A loan of $216 helped to start her adda work.
Saima has made it through with scratches and burns to run her household. She was married early and soon after had children. Her husband had a meager income which only covered their food and shelter requirements. They live in a two roomed house in the slums of Gujranwala. Taken out of school when she was in 5th standard, she was keen on educating her children and therefore started stitching to generate some income for their school fee. Soon after she started making embroidery(putting crystal on formal clothes for embellishment) for which she gets a small labor of $80 per month with which she pay for her children’s school expenses. She has the three sons and two daughter, all under the age of 12. She wants to change her family’s fate and has decided to start a small scale business of embroidery at her home. She expects a tremendous increase in her income with an initial investment of $216.
