A loan of $216 helped start a food business.

Wajid Hussain Jamali is a hard-working man who has devoted all his life to working tirelessly to feed his family. He is the sole bread earner for his wife, 4 very young children and his old mother. He wants to see his children getting an education; however, he is short on cash and does not have enough money to pay for their fees. His eldest daughter is 5 and the rest are toddlers but he worries if he will be able to afford their educational expenses. Worried by the thought, he has decided upon opening his own business.

Wajid Hussain has done various jobs in the past 13 years. He has been a salesman, a store incharge, and a rickshaw driver. He currently drives a rickshaw on rent but this hardly earns him any income. His wife also assists him in earning by providing home-tuition to the neighborhood kids, yet the expenses are hardly managed. Part of the problem is that Wajid lives in a rented house and has to pay Rs. 9000 in rent every month.

Disillusioned by extremely low salaries and no growth, he wants to start his own business of a food stall. He has spent the last many months in training to become a cook, and possess good marketing and business management skills because of his past employment as a salesman and store incharge. This may turn out to be a lifechanging decision for Wajid Hussain and his family.

Let’s help Wajid earn more by donating to his food business. We must play our part in helping deserving individuals bear the fruit of their hard work.
