A loan of $540 helped Najma to expand her garments store.
Najma knows the challenges being a mother. Throughout her life, she has worked hard for her five daughters and two sons.In the past, she worked as a seamstress, working long hours with little time to look after her children. She used her salary to place her children into school. But she wanted a business that would be less hectic giving her time for her children. Four years ago, her wishes were answered. She started a small garments store at her home. The store is packed with racks of children and women’s clothing, from t-shirts to jeans to socks and lingerie. After sometime into the business, she came across a flyer describing Seedout's microfinance loan services, which enables small business owners to take out interest free loans. Needing the extra funds to update her clothing inventory throughout the year, she decided to get a loan. With her first loan cycle, she was able to update her store with new inventory and helped to add new clothing and racks for her growing store. Najma invests most of her profit for her seven children, including their school fees. Most importantly, she has gained a sense of security as she has been able to take her children to school and also look after them. Her eldest daughter helps out in the store too, and is integral to help keep the business running. She has planned more expansion and has reapplied for another seedout loan envisioning a brighter and happier future.
