One of the biggest problems prevalent in Pakistan is the problem of poverty. Poverty affects millions of Pakistanis and is the root cause of hundreds of diseases and deaths each year. More people in poor communities become susceptible to tropical and bacterial infections, and their chances of survival are significantly reduced. Poor health, in turn, traps communities in poverty. Other than health, most underprivileged people are unable to afford the necessities of life, and those residing in poor communities do not have access to better facilities. What happens next is that the poor suffer from ill health, lack of sanitation, clean water, education, medical facilities, and much more.
Poverty as a Burden
In Pakistan, every one in four Pakistani lives below the poverty line. Due to this, most of our children are suffering. They are forced to leave school and put into child labor. More and more people become inclined towards criminal activities and injustices to feed their loved ones. These issues lead to an alarming situation in society. However, there is a number of non-profit organizations, local and international, which are working towards the eradication of poverty by creating more jobs or setting up businesses for the poor.
Seed Out’s contribution to ending poverty
One such organization fighting hard against poverty is Seed Out. Based in Lahore, Seed Out is doing a remarkable job in the field of helping the poor. Seed Out is a non-profit organization that raises micro-entrepreneurs by setting up small businesses for them by providing them micro-loans.
Seed Out operates in four cities of Pakistan, which are Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, and Bahawalnagar.
